The power of storytelling: how the customer is the hero of your story

If you’ve been paying attention to marketing trends, you’ve probably heard of  storytelling . A good story is creative, human, and real. People connect with each other: neuroscience even suggests that humans tend to learn more quickly through someone or something that has meaning to them  .

Some tips: Keep your  story short and concise , starting with an initial attraction - a "hook" . Give a  personal aspect to your essential message, but essentially the basis of your storytelling should be an action with a  hero  - in this case, your customer - and a  challenge  that he or she must overcome.

Positioning is key. You must position yourself as the  guide . Guiding your hero to the end of the story, helping them avoid tragedy and conquer insurmountable pain points, is an extremely effective way to provide value and build trust.

There is a  golden rule : structure the narrative so that your  customer is the center of your story and not your business . The idea is to get involved in your action, just as if it were a "book"!

If you’re a small business, telling your business’ story should be a crucial part of your operations. A brand story has a strategic purpose to attract more leads by making your customer the hero. Here are some tips to help you make your story perfect:



1. Define your parameters
A business story should be engaging. If it doesn’t have a clear focus, you’ll quickly lose your customers’ attention. You need to establish context right from the start .

To get started, you should be able to answer the following questions:

    Who is telling the story?
    Why is the story being told?
    When and where is the story taking place?
    Who are the people in the story?
    What are people trying to achieve?
    What challenges are faced?
Parameters will help you develop a more engaging story that resonates with your audience. Set the  scene  so consumers know exactly what you’re talking about. Most importantly, make it clear why you’re telling this story. This will guide your audience through your narrative and  keep them engaged until the end.



2. Be authentic:  just be yourself
A  truthful narrative  is key to gaining your customers’ trust. Don’t try to trick your audience with a story that’s too “flowery.” Customers know when they’re being manipulated, and on page seo service they don’t appreciate it. These stories should have a  clear outcome . They should provide a hopeful, thought-provoking message with action points. The story gives us a sense of who we are and where we come from. The outcome instills confidence in your offerings and values. You can also use real results from your business to convey a message to your customers.
